2002 Honda S2000 - Totally Irresponsible, Completely Impractical, Insanely Fun!

Are you a 'Type-A' personality? Does life at hyper-speed sound more enticing than lazing in luxurious comfort? Does a vacation filled with hang gliding, rock climbing and river rafting seem more intriguing than strolling down a quiet country lane near a serene bed and breakfast? If so, I've driven your car.

Honda's S2000 is not for the faint of heart. The word 'compromise' won't be included in this discussion at all. Yes, this little roadster is built with a single purpose in mind, pure adrenalin boosting, endorphin releasing street racing.

How irresponsible? Honda promote street racing? Well, not exactly. It's just that anyone with any sense of childishness left in their personality will be immediately tempted beyond the capability to resist. Really, it's quite unfair. A push of the red starter button ignites the 2.0-L engine. Actually, the unassuming 4-cylinder hardly creates soul-stirring sounds - at least at idle. Initial take off is also a bit of a let down, feeling closer to a Mazda Miata than the BMW Z3 its lofty $48,000 base price targets. Really, don't try and impress your friends by burning rubber at the stoplight - it won't happen.
