What isn't above average? The digital gauge package includes a large arched electroluminescent adaptation of an F1 tachometer that stretches across the entire top half of the instrument cluster. It's a little difficult to get used to but much more effective than the digital speedometer directly underneath. No complaints about the seats however, as they're among the best in any car I've tested despite their minimal adjustments.
Expect near perfect reliability, contrary to most 2-seat sports cars, superb fuel economy and better than average resale value - typical Honda traits. Don't expect to be able to haul much more than a getaway bag, two tennis rackets and your significant other. But that's OK, three's a crowd anyway.

The S2000 is raw in the sense of being a traditional sports car with some foibles. Edgy in the sense that it will bite you back if you are not fully committed to it and not inexpensive at $48,000 if you can find a dealer willing to sell at list price. For those that all-round performance in a two-seat sports car is everything, the new Honda S2000 has few peers at any price.
