2004 Chrysler Pacifica - All Season Safety and All Reason Flexibility

Even if you're not a car enthusiast you've got to like Chrysler. They've got guts. When so many automakers are building stimulating concept cars that never see any real world application Chrysler takes good ideas and turns them into running, functional production cars. What a revolutionary idea? They always look near identical to the original prototypes that got everyone drooling in the first place and often manage to open up an entirely new automotive category.

Take the Pacifica for instance. While a few manufacturers put together concepts of full-size luxury crossover vehicles for 2003's auto show circuit, Chrysler's segment leading model is already in production and heading to a dealer near you. It hit the auto show circuit over a year ago when the competition were displaying nothing more than artist's renderings, obviously a motivated by Chrysler's drawings the previous year. Now the other makers are rushing to catch up and imitate the Pacifica.

But why imitate an unproven entity? After all, who knows if the Chrysler's new 'segment buster' will succeed or wind up as an automotive afterthought next to other revolutionary ideas like the Lincoln Blackwood pickup truck, an abysmal flop? The answer is easy. The competition knows a winner when they see one as easily as Chrysler does. The winged brand's newest incarnation is that good.
