The Big Comfy Missile
Car fanatics may wish to tuck an absorbent towel into the front of their shirt collar before reading further. The following text deals with the BMW ALPINA B7: a custom-built flagship from a German aftermarket specialist that’s been tweaking BMWs for decades.

ALPINA is the only BMW-endorsed aftermarket tuner. They create the B7 by starting with a 7 Series and executing numerous visual, chassis, powertrain and computer modifications that turn the dial up to 11 where looks, performance and exclusivity are concerned.

There’s no BMW M7, but the ALPINA B7 sort of amounts to the same thing: an even more exclusive and potent version of a very exclusive and potent car.

“Hey mister, are you filming a rap video?”
Even at a quick glance, this machine looks like a great big deal. With its 21-inch wheels and nearly 17-foot wheelbase, B7 floats down the road leaving pointed fingers, dropped jaws and an air of excited attention in its wake. It’s like a giant sheetmetal magnet for cell-phone cameras, jealous stares, and words like ‘sick’ and ‘baller’ from kids in sideways caps and saggy jeans.

Beyond loaded
On board, the B7 is as loaded as loaded gets. Up front are a set of extremely comfortable seats, full multimedia connectivity, automatic climate control, and heaps of gadgetry. Same thing in back.

Illuminated door sills welcome passengers with a touch of classiness, and rear-seat occupants get motorized curtains to keep people from checking out their top-secret business. The doors even seal themselves, so there’s no noisy slamming required if you’re trying to be sneaky. ALPINA’s logo and subtle touches are applied throughout, and there’s even a plaque of authenticity.

Room galore, too. In fact, some 12.5 feet of passengers can sit behind one another with room to spare.
