New to the Blue Drive line-up is the 2016 Sonata Plug-in Hybrid. With a larger battery that can be plugged in and charged in as little as 2.5 hours, it is capable of travelling up to 43 km on electric power alone. Once the electric-only range is depleted, the Sonata Plug-in Hybrid reverts to operate like the traditional Sonata Hybrid, on a full parallel hybrid drive system.
