Here's a fact: fitting an alternative-fuel powerplant to a large, heavy and thirsty vehicle increases its fuel economy to a higher level than the same powerplant fitted to a small car. Perhaps that's why there's such a vast selection of alternatively powered SUV's currently available, or the reason that even more are coming to market in the near future. Regardless, automakers have been working hard to create eco-friendly concept SUV's to show the car-hungry public at this year's North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
