Volvo to pioneer in-car HD radio
With the availability of satellite radio, high performance MP3 playback and even hard-drive based audio systems, you might think that good old fashioned AM/FM radio is taking a backseat on the in-car entertainment forefront. Swedish marquee Volvo is out to change that, as they've just announced their position as the first automaker in the U.S. to offer a new digital, high-definition radio technology on nearly all of their models. Vehicles equipped with the system will deliver higher quality sound, more channels and enhanced data features like song title and artist information, updates on traffic and even school closures.
