Brill T40S 1937
In the 1930s tramway-style buses became commonplace in cities. A major player in the domain was the J.G. Brill company, originally a cart-making company founded back in 1868. At its peak, the Philadelphia-based company was the biggest manufacturer in this sector in North America. The company closed its doors in 1954, but some of its buses continued to operate in the company’s home city until the early 1980s.
