Cleanova II
This small electric van is a joint venture between France’s Dassault and Heuliez, as well as TM4, a subsidiary of Hydro-Quebec. Based on a Renault Kangoo, it uses a 25-kW/h battery to provide a range of about 200 kilometres. Top speed is rated at 100 km/h.
Ford Escape PHEV
Similar to the Ford Escape Hybrid, the PHEV variant relies on a Li-ion battery that can be fully charged in 6 to 8 hours through a regular 120-volt outlet. Typical urban driving sees this vehicle burn as little as 2 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres according to the automaker and Hydro-Quebec.
Pihsiang GreenRunner City Car
This electrically-powered minicar is built by French-manufacturer Microcar for a Taiwanese conglomerate called Pihsiang, which include the Pihsiang Machinery Mfg., specialized in the production of electric bicycles and wheelchairs, obviously targets non-handicapped people, and the Pihsiang Energy Technology (PHET), specialized in Li-ion battery making. Offering two- and-four-passenger configurations, it weighs only 540 kilos and uses a Li-ion battery with a ferrous phosphate cathode. Top speed varies from 45 to 80 km/h depending on the market. The available range amounts to 85-125 or 150-220 kilometres depending on the battery pack selected.
