Unfortunately there were a few things that I didn't like. I found the clutch difficult to get used to. A less than short linkage took some practice when starting out in first gear - so much so that I stalled it (hard to admit, but easier since my husband stalled it as well... ha).
Having the instrumentation in the center also took some getting used to. I kept looking up at a blank dash wondering, was this feature due to the designer's creative license or a bean-counters desire to cut costs in right-hand drive foreign markets?
The Echo fills a hole left by the trustworthy yet conservative Tercel (after many years of leadership in its class). And just like its name it hasn't arrived quietly, slotting a new 'groove' for this generation's need for something a little more 'fun'ky.
