Aston Martin DB7 Zagato Concept - Shaken, Not Stirred

What was the most beautiful car ever made? Of course, considering the levity of the question there may be heated differences of opinion. Lovers of British cars will almost always choose the Jaguar E-Type while Italians often debate over a variety of stunning Ferrari's. Germans usually opt for the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Coupe while Americans go for the '63 split window Corvette more often than not. What about me? I'll take all of the above and you can throw in a 1959 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato for good measure.

Rekindling the relationship that spawned this spectacular piece of machinery more than 40 years ago, Aston Martin recently commissioned the Milan based corrozzeria to sprinkle some magic dust on its most successful model since the company's inception 88-years ago, the current DB7. Fortunately the transformation has resulted in a more classic, simple design than the controversial 1986 - 1988 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Zagato, incorporating many of the 1959 cars styling cues instead. These include its short rounded tail capped by circular tail lamps, legendary 'double-bubble' roof and larger than stock grille.

The abbreviated tail is needed due to the Zagato's shortened DB7 Vantage wheelbase, providing a 60 kg (132 lb) reduction in weight over the donor car. Also noticeable are Zagato-styled 18-inch alloy wheels that incidentally have a modified offset for a wider track.
