Just like its ride and handling combination, the CL boasts extremely refined yet sporting accommodations. High-grade perforated leather covers the seats, door trim, steering wheel, shift knob and handbrake while soft-touch plastics make up the majority of surfaces. There are still competitors in the luxury market that do a better job overall, but Acura has improved its quality of materials tenfold in the past couple of years. Few best its fit and finish though, nor the human engineering that goes into producing one of the most comfortable and efficient seat to steering wheel to foot pedal relationships in the business.
As expected, luxury features are adequately supplied. Still, Acura hasn't gone overboard. Six Bose speakers deliver excellent quality sound from the Acura AM/FM stereo/cassette with in-dash 6 CD changer, adjustable by its steering wheel mounted controls. Other luxuries such as automatic climate control with micron filtration, an automatic day/night rearview mirror, 8-way power driver's seat with 2-position memory, front-passenger's 4-way power seat, Homelink remote control system, a power glass sunroof with sunshade, power heated outside mirrors with memory and remote trunk release actuated by the remote keyless entry fob, don't particularly cause the CL to rise above other luxury brands.
What is different however is its complete lack of options, excepting the no-cost 5-speed "Sequential SportShift" automatic transmission - incidentally one of the best I've ever tested. Then again, what's noticeably missing from what could be an options list is a navigation system. While I hardly use them for more than testing purposes when installed in press vehicles, 'nav' systems have become popular options in luxury class vehicles.
