The Nuvolari's trunk not only holds 350 L (12.4 cu ft) of cargo, fairly large for the coupe sector, but coddles your fineries in deep pile carpeting trimmed in brushed aluminum. That high-level luxury improves in the passenger compartment, where Audi integrates the billet aluminum theme initiated in the TT more subtly, combined with rich Stromboli black and Carrara white leathers and high-grade plastic materials. It's Visine to overwhelmed eyes, softly lit, warm and comfortable, with nary a trace of sensation; a mature statement of design symbiotically old world and new tech.

Oblong shaped blue backlit gauges house large tach and speedo dials, flanked on the outside by twin temp and fuel secondary gauges. The unorthodox leather-wrapped steering wheel is cut flat at bottom with perfectly formed thumb indentations left and right, its center hub grille shaped pulling together exterior and interior design patterns.

Although just a concept, and lacking some essentials like interior ventilation, the Nuvolari's seats are already perfect. (Photo: Audi)

The full-length center console is tall, making for a short center stack that integrates navigation, HVAC and audio controls into its MMI interface. A stubby gear shift lever is obviously not designed to be used at speed, forcing the driver to make use of the steering column mounted shift paddles. Except for a rectangular slat at dead center, and dual ports diametrically opposed on each door panel, interior ventilation is noticeably absent, something that would probably need to be considered more carefully if the Nuvolari were to be produced.

The front seats, however, would be best kept as is. Richly upholstered, each is as well bolstered as any I've seen, contoured to envelope legs, back and buttocks in absolute comfort and support, necessary to compensate for the concept's extreme fore, aft and lateral acceleration.
