That's exceptional performance considering its considerable 2,585 kg (5,699 lb) heft. What's more, the Bentley already meets 2005 emission standards. But to think of it as environmentally friendly would be a misunderstanding. The Arnage R's fuel economy rating of 23.0 / 14.8 L/100km (10.0 / 15.0 mpg) shows complete disregard for rising gasoline prices. Also, depending on your jurisdiction, gas guzzler taxes could be severe.
A 4-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control adjusts the gear change points in 'normal' mode according to a particular driver's style. Its shift energy management system provides computer control resulting in smoother than average gear changes. Power goes through the rear wheels via a limited slip rear differential.
Its high velocity capabilies - the Arnage R is speed limited to 249 km/h (155 mph) - make safety considerations paramount. Large micro-alloy ventilated discs at all four corners are capable of short stopping distances, assisted by 4-channel ABS. Bentley also makes use of Continental Teves' ESP electronic stability program for maintaining composure in almost any weather condition. In case of the unmentionable, dual front airbags are joined by side impact thorax and side curtain airbags for all outward occupants.
Bentley offers a myriad of colors to compliment its exterior style. In total, twenty-two are available to choose from, seven of which are entirely new. That said they would probably paint your car any color you prefer providing you were willing to pay the surcharge. The same type of personalization is available for the interior with a choice of nineteen hues of hide, four of which are newly appointed.
