The updated sedan is 55 mm (2.2 in) wider with a 71 mm (2.8 in) longer wheelbase than the outgoing model, making a noticeable difference in hip room and rear legroom. Rear seat comfort has not always been this model's strength, but a 6'2" friend found the new car quite roomy. The increased accommodations improved the driving position too, with more room for the left shoulder and a comfortable armrest on the door for the elbow.

All controls are within easy reach as well, and exude premium tactile quality. Near the top of the center stack just under the audio system an amazingly complex dash mounted cupholder sits horizontal until pressed, when it pops out and spins, contorts and eventually protrudes ready for use. The good news is that it holds drinks in place with the Stickum of NFL receiver Terrell Owens. What could be bad about that? Well, you need two hands to get the drink out. I suppose, given the wisdom of experience, that this is better than wearing java all over your pants after negotiating a sharp turn.
