These are just some of the reasons why the new 9-3 has become such a hit. What might cause more to go Swedish is its reasonable price. Starting at $43,500 and rising to only $46,590 with every feature included, the Vector makes for tough competition with the Audi A4, BMW 330i, Infiniti G35, Mercedes-Benz C320 and Volvo S60. While all rivals mentioned offer more robust V6 engines, there's something to be said for the greener Saab's 4-cylinder fuel economy resulting in reduced toxic emissions.
Although a larger engine and a classic hatchback design would be nice, the 9-3 Vector is still one of the best front-wheel drive sport sedans ever created. (Photo: Shawn Pisio, Canadian Auto Press) |
As if you haven't noticed I'm thoroughly impressed. Yes I would like more power and yes I would rather have a hatchback, but the tradeoff has resulted in the best Saab to ever roll out off the automaker's assembly line and one of the best front-wheel drive sport sedans ever created.
