The Limited comes packed with features including body-color front and rear fascia accents, black on the LS and chrome on the XLS.

The Limited includes these features standard, plus adds a full-size spare, towing package, tire pressure monitoring system, rear passenger climate controls and blower, plus fog lamps just to start. The Limited loses the chrome off the XLS for body-color front and rear fascia accents, adding to the top model's refined character. Mitsubishi plans to update the Endeavor with a bevy of luxury items next fall, including a DVD entertainment system and satellite radio - a navigation system will be offered mid-cycle.

There's plenty of room behind the rear seats for hauling. Mitsubishi had us drop by a Santa Barbara supermarket to load up with food for the local food bank. While a benevolent act on their part it gave us a chance to test out the sport utility's real world functionality.

While its aggressive styling and assertive driving dynamics are above the norm in this class, Mitsubishi was careful to make sure its new Endeavor was absolutely practical. The design team considered a third row of seats but opted for the additional legroom of two rows, making it larger than most of its rivals. The lack of a third row also improves cargo space, with the Endeavor allowing up to 1,152 L (40.7 cu ft) of volume when all seats are in place. Fold the 60/40 split rear seatback forward and an additional 1,011 L (35.7 cu ft) can be created for a total of 2,163 L (76.4 cu ft). While not quite as much overall capacity as some of its competitors it is capable of fitting a stack of 4x8 foot plywood or drywall sheets, making it extremely useful for trips home from the lumber yard.
