And with that last thought in mind, there are no certainties. While some things make sense on the surface, there are always considerations not as easily seen that make or break opportunities. Canada's 5-mph bumper law, for one, has kept many models that can easily be made available in the U.S. away from our country. Probably a greater factor is developing a business model for a niche product in a country with a small population.

But the 3- and 5-door Micra is hardly a niche car, and could easily become a best seller overnight. If I were a betting man I'd put money on it becoming available sometime in the near future.
If Canada gets the hatchback, will Nissan send us the C+C? Keep your fingers crossed. The Japanese company looks ready to create about 20,000 examples per year, but hasn't said if its Sunderland, England plant's capacity is limited to this number or if it is just speculating as to probable sales. Either way, a few models thrown our way would be a fun way to put the standard Micra on the Canadian consumer's collective mind.
