So what makes the Pathfinder so darn popular? To me, it might not be the interior quality, the distorting stereo speakers, or even the fuel consumption, but the overall driving experience is great. Its styling is clean, relatively compact, and commendable, and it's loaded with functional features.

You should also be able to get a good deal on a 2004 model now that Nissan has announced an all-new Pathfinder on the way for 2005. It, of course, improves on every aspect of the outgoing model, and most likely will erase my list of complaints in a single stroke of the brush.
Will there be a Canadian-only Chinook version of the new truck? That will remain to be seen, but until then the 2004 Chinook is a good back-to-basics sport utility, one that is sure to keep looking good long after the new model arrives. Also, the current Pathfinder is sure to keep running for years to come due to a much better than average reported reliability rating. Like I said, it's no wonder the Pathfinder is so popular.
