As already mentioned the Touareg is a very well equipped, but there's more. Standard features include driver and front passenger heated comfort seats, fully reclining with height and angle adjustable head restraints; a leather-wrapped steering wheel with multi-function controls (cruise control, audio and onboard computer functions); a height adjustable and telescoping steering column; ambient lighting; five power outlets; privacy glass; premium radio with CD player; trip computer; HomeLink; automatic headlights (with a coming and leaving home feature); center locking differential; a black roof rack; tire pressure monitoring system; trailer hitch preparation (wiring, bumper and ventilation); auto dimming interior mirror; rain sensor wipers.

Most options are cobbled into two main option packages, different for the V6 and V8 models, but available in both Canada and the U.S. The two packages in the V6 format are labeled Premium and Premium II. They both offer: 12-way power seats with memory (driver's seat only); memory function driver and passenger exterior mirrors; lumbar support for driver and front passenger; heated power folding auto dimming mirrors with memory; center console wood trim; cricket leather seat trim; front center sliding armrest. The Premium II package also includes manual rear side sunshades.

The V8 format labels the option packages as Convenience and Premium Plus. The Convenience package includes: keyless access and locking with memory feature; power adjustable steering column; power adjustable front seatbelts including passenger seat.
The Premium-Plus package builds on the convenience package by adding: CD based GPS navigation; 400 watt, 11 speaker sound system with 6 stacker CD; bi-xenon high and low beam HID lights; 4-corner adjustable air suspension; upgraded leather seats and wood trim, plus a roof rack. There is also a winter option package that heats the steering wheel and rear seats.
