The Unlimited also comes standard with a fully-enclosed retractable and removable soft-top, essentially a longer version of the base TJ's collapsible roof. For those that want something extra Jeep can accessorize the new SUV with its Sunrider drop-top, which integrates an innovative 1,143 by 584 mm (45 x 23 inch) sunroof over the driver and front passenger. This may be the first application of a sunroof within a retractable soft-top, offering fresh air motoring without the need to lower the top completely. The Sunrider option also features larger, deep-tinted side windows for better visibility for rear passengers.

Unlimited owners in colder climes will appreciate the optional hardtop that adds glass side windows, plus a glass rear window with defroster and wiper/washer.
Other options are body-side side steps, an electrochromic mirror with compass and temperature, engine block heater, locking fuel cap, Sentry Key, a 7-speaker audio package, leather-wrapped steering wheel and speed (cruise) control.
Jeep will designate its newest arrival a 2004½ model, with an expected availability in March of this year. Will a Scrambler pickup be offered off of the same stretched platform? If George Murphy, Jeep's senior vice president of global marketing is to be believed, it's on its way in July. What's next, a fully enclosed 4-door Dakar? We can only hope.
