won't feature the same stripped-out, minimalist interior of the CSL, with its bare door panels and base-spec 3-Series center console, Alcantara trim on the gearshift lever, handbrake and steering wheel give a sporty theme. Alu Tec interior trim, an exclusive to the package adds a bit of flair to the otherwise driver-focused cabin. On the outside, buyers have the option of the entire M3 colour pallet from retina-searing yellows and blues to sensuous blacks and silvers, as well as a new exclusive colour called Interlagos Blue metallic.

Though the Competition Package isn't as extensive as the CSL in terms of the body and engine modifications, it is a formidable upgrade to a great sports car. What's more is that the Competition Package will be available to buyers around the globe, including Canada. What is the asking price for what might be BMW's ultimate driving machine? A mere $6,900 above the M3's standard list price of $73,900, for a grand total of $80,800; it's not exactly a bargain, but considering it's as close as we'll ever get to the CSL, complaints ought to be few and far between.
