The brake pedal is solid and generates reasonable feedback. Response is quick and performance impressive for such a huge beast. Steering is well
mannered and probably the most precise of the full-sized pickups that I have driven in the past. The turning radius could be measured in city blocks though. Tire and wind noises penetrate inside a generally quiet environment once at highway speeds. I will make a note about the Goodyear Wrangler AT/S tires that were mounted on the big wheels: They were surprisingly grippy on wet and snow covered roads. I would still recommend a good set of winter tires for the snowy season.

Safety

The F-150 has standard dual front air bags, ABS brakes, electronic brake force distribution and seatbelt pre-tensionners. The NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) awarded the car 4 out of 5 stars (a good result) for a frontal impact and 3 out of 5 stars (an average result) for the front passengers and 4 out of 5 stars for the rear passengers in lateral impacts. The IIHS has rated it a "Best Pick" and received the highest marks in its category.

Conclusion

The F-150 is the most inspired Ford on the market at the moment (The Fusion will be the next one). It is also the best built and assembled. This is not remarkable per say as the big 3 have invested large sums of money in their trucks as they are their biggest sellers. My only complaint about the Ford is that their powerplants are short on the grunt. I have read rumours about a 6.2L V8 that is in the works.

Here is another note: The optional rear sonar parking assist ($325) is a
must when driving or parking this mammoth in the city, unlike living in the country where knowing what is directly behind you is less important. The list of options and accessories for the Ford (same goes for the Dodge and the GM) is nearly endless.

I did like the King Ranch very much. As long as Ford continues to improve on their short and especially long-term reliability, The Dodge Ram and GM's Silverado/Sierra will not stand a chance at taking the crown away from the King.

Good stuff:
Like a rock (Ford that is...)
Exterior and interior styling

Not so good stuff:
The need for a gas station at every street corner
Lackadaisical performance from the 5.4L V8
