When it comes to what my temporary kids liked more, the V6 AWD takes the cake. It's not often that any the children I 'hang

out' with (I call them my hangout friends since they are older, and I'm really only there for shuttling and damage control!) comment on the quality of my cars. Yet, something seemed to click with this Tucson. First of all, they really liked the unique Aqua Silver exterior colour, as did I, and found the all-leather interior to be an upgrade from the upholstered interior in the GL FWD. They also thought that the interior was pretty 'cool'. While it's not the most interesting cabin I've ever encountered, it's a neat and clean finish and has easy-to-read buttons, perfect for button pushing, if you know what I mean! I second their critiques.

I found that while sitting in the front leather bucket seat, the butt warmers had but one setting - hot! Now this is great because that's what I like, but I know there are those who prefer the multi-stage seat warmers system. Mind you, I didn't use the warmers all that much because the weather is quite mild, but they are handy for the mornings

when I have to wake up early (meaning 5:45 am) and drive to work.

Furthermore, while sitting behind the wheel, I didn't find visibility to be too terrible. The front windshield is a good size for the small Tucson, the blind spots aren't bad, and the C-pillars in the back are wide, but nothing that made my life miserable while parallel parking or reversing. It's a nicely structured SUV from the inside out.

Fuel economy in both Tucsons was as expected - not great, but then again, it's not supposed to be. That's what hybrids are for! The GL FWD has estimated fuel consumption of 10.6 L/100 km in the city and 7.9 L/100 km on the highway. The GL AWD V6's fuel consumption is estimated at 12.3 L/100 km in the city and 8.8 L/100 km on the highway.
