Due to the aforementioned technologies, plus internal exhaust gas recirculation, secondary air injection, etc, the engine's exhaust emissions are extremely low, even to Europe's 2005 EU 4 limits.

Performance aside, SLK occupants will be more comfortable too. Not only is the interior larger but the world's first neck-level heating system makes top-down driving in all temperatures enjoyable.
Driver and passenger will be safer too, with new standard head/thorax side airbags, adaptive front airbags and dual-stage seatbelt force limiters.
Since first showing photos of the car earlier this year the luxury brand has accumulated more than 7,000 orders. Buyers will be able to see the 2005 SLK first hand during the first week of March when it is set to appear at the 74th annual Geneva Motor Show.
The new Mercedes will start at a price of 33,524 euros (CAD$56,463; USD$43,059), with the top-line AMG model going for 63,974 euros (CAD$ 107,740; USD$82,166). Actual Canadian prices have yet to be announced.
The 2005 SLK goes on sale across Europe this coming March 27th.
