clamps, which are augmented by electronic brake force distribution technology, are standard equipment. Further enhancing safety aboard Saab's re-worked Impreza are frontal airbags and head/torso side airbags for the front occupants.

In addition to three-point seatbelts at all five seating positions, the front seatbelts feature pretensioners and load limiters. The front seat occupants also benefit from active headrests, intended to reduce whiplash injury in a rear impact. Active headrests are not available on the Impreza and the side airbags are only available with upgrade packages - something to consider.
