Although I haven't had the opportunity to drive the 9-2X and Impreza back-to-back, my research indicates that in addition to using slightly more premium finishes in the 9-2X, Saab has also added sound deadening to reduce both engine and road noise. These attributes would definitely improve the Impreza, which by way of comparison, I expect would feel more "econobox" than the Saab product.
Putting the value concerns aside, I can enthusiastically say that I enjoyed my time behind the "Saab" emblem affixed to the three-spoke steering wheel in my 9-2X Linear tester. The Euro-Asian wagon is fun to drive, economical and highly versatile - especially for those who "live" reality rather than watch it on the tube.
