It is now obvious that Saab, GM's eccentric Swedish division has run out of inspiration. Following the arrival of the 9-2x, AKA as the Saabaru, Saab is now offering an SUV for the first time. "It's about time," you may say. Possibly, however, upon closer verification, it becomes very clear that the 9-7x is no more than a Chevrolet Trailblazer in Saab dressing. Just like its many twins that are the Trailblazer, Envoy and Rainier, the Linear version is equipped with the 275 hp 4.2L inline 6 -cylinder engine. The upscale model, known as Arc, inherits the 300 hp 5.3L V8. Like the Buick Rainier, the 9-7x will only be available with a regular wheelbase.

Auto123.com's impressions:
Far from being impressed by the large number of SUVs that GM offers, I can only say that it is very unfortunate that Saab, a manufacturer that had a distinctive flair, has now been soiled image-wise. Regardless, if we following tendencies when it comes to SUVs and the incessant demand for them, it will probably, and quickly, become the best selling Saab. Think of the Porsche Cayenne and Lexus RX330.
