Designed and built by Evolve Cars Inc., this S40 was first introduced at the 2004 SEMA show in Las Vegas. Heavily modified, this S40 is principally an exercise to attract tuning crowds. Nearly all body panels have been modified or replaced such as the bumpers, hood with scoops, skirt kit and rear spoiler. Huge 19-inch alloy wheels are fitted with P255/30ZR19 front and P305/25ZR19 rear Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires.
Mechanically, this Volvo receives a modified 2.5L inline 5-cylinder engine. Thanks to its ultra-large Garrett turbocharger, horsepower numbers are evaluated at 550. To aid with controlling all that power, the suspension upgrades include adjustable Koni shocks, Eibach springs and large stabilizer bars. The braking system is composed of oversized cross-drilled and vented discs and 6-piston AP calipers.
