New Engine Will Be as Sophisticated as Imported Competition
A new V6, to be used in Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles, will be built in Ford Motor's Lima, Ohio facility. The plant will receive a $470 million (USD$335 million) upgrade to incorporate the engine program.

As sophisticated as anything from Europe or Asia, the 3.5-L Duratec V6 will boast an aluminum block, dual-overhead cams and 24-valves.
Annual production is expected to reach 325,000 units.
