In the end, I don't have any major complaints with either of the Elantras. Visibility in both sedan and hatchback configurations is decent, and the
manual and automatic transmissions shift through their respective gears smoothly. I did find that the clutch on the GT was surprisingly soft. I think I would have liked it a little more if it was stiffer, which would have further complemented its sporty personality.
Both the Hyundai Elantra 4-door SE and 5-door GT are great rides. If I had to choose between the two I'd opt for the GT, but that doesn't mean that the more conservative sedan isn't worth of your consideration. They're both enjoyable to drive, miserly on fuel and sleek in styling. A set of cars with winning characteristics isn't easy to find but Hyundai's Elantra fraternal twins have them.
