With a base, and as-tested price of $92,650, the SC is in a little bit of
an odd position. Its intended targets of the Jaguar XK, Benz SL and others are more costly by over $10,000; a significant amount, and yet, they don't offer the same build quality or sense of occasion. True, some of these may be dynamically superior when hastily driven down a winding road, but they can't match the Lexus' build, refinement and bulletproof reliability. And when it comes to choosing a laid-back, relaxing cruiser, few cars make for a better argument than the SC.
