favourite, theSports Chrono Package, which not only looks ultimately cool sittingatop the dash like some overly sophisticated Swiss timepiece, actuallyis capable of counting laps, keeping track of a driver's best time anddisplaying all lap time information on a digital graph via theaudio/nav system interface in the centre stack. The $1,290 Sport ChronoPlus package also modifies the car's engine management characteristics,if programmed to do so, plus the behavior of PSM and PASM systems. ForPorsche technophiles who frequent the racetrack, this is money wellspent.
A remote CD changer can be fitted into the front trunk,featuring six additional discs for $910, while the audio system can beupgraded with a Bose surround sound system for $1,330.
A tire
pressuremonitoring system can also be added, probably a good idea if you planon driving quickly, as can a $750 park assist system to aid whenreversing - it's a small car but the rear window isn't exactlyminivan-large.
One option that you might want to buck up foris the bi-xenon headlamp package, adding $1,530 to the total price,while I found it a bit shocking that, if you happen to want Porsche'smost popular color, basically any shade of silver, you'll be paying $1,150 for metallic paint. Ouch! I suppose that's a lot easier to stomachthan the $6,050 needed if you simply must match your new Cayman S toyour favourite fuchsia carry-on bag. At least Porsche will match thecar's exterior paint to a sample, something most carmakers won't do.
