Type-S summary
After a three-year absence, the TL is once again available in Type-S armour. It pegs the subtly redesigned 2007 TL further up the performance chart of premium-level sports sedans, without overlooking safety and occupant protection. Side airbags and side curtain airbags are standard equipment along with Acura's Vehicle Stability Assist technology (VSA) and traction control.
The TL Type-S is a sports sedan for the seriously sports-minded. It favours handling and performance over luxury and comfort. It also drinks 11.6 and 7.3 litres of premium fuel for every 100K traveled in the city and on the highway respectively (Acura's figures). At $46,300 the TL Type-S isn't inexpensive but then again, it comes one way- loaded, including navigation, premium audio and Bluetooth.
