Extension of the Human Spirit
A cabriolet with practicality, and spirit
The 335i Cabriolet is a convertible that one can live with as a daily driver. With the roof in place, a conventionally sized trunk will accommodate basic Costco runs and trips to the airport. With the roof retracted a reasonable amount of trunk space remains- enough to squirrel-away overnight bags and picnic provisions. A fold-down rear seatback expands cargo space behind the front perches while protecting leather clad, rear seating surfaces.

The cabriolet weighs 175 kg (386 pounds) more than the coupe, which is amazing.

Roof up or down, the functional rear seat will hold two adults in comfort typical of a compact car, replete with surprisingly adequate head and legroom. As for the driver- the spoils are his...or is that hers? Lots of stretch space, and in the case of my tester, sport seats with more restraint and support than an over-cinched straight jacket.

The true fortune in the 335i Cabriolet is its ability to transform from a solid-top premium sports coupe to a roofless, wind-in-the-hair sun-on-the-bald-spot extension of the human spirit; and I love it.
