What has always been remarkable about the CR-V is how well it drives. The secret lies in Honda's magic potion which has a rigid unibody chassis as the main ingredient. The fully independent suspension controls vertical movements masterfully while limiting body-roll and pitch. The Honda's handling is equal to most compact and many midsize cars. On top of the already stellar road manners, the CR-V's steering and brakes provide feedback and confidence like few other vehicles in its class. Only a rudely accident stretch of tarmac will have you wishing for a more supple ride.

Honda has never lost sight of the fact that we spend 99% of our time inside of the vehicle. This fact is evident by the elegant design, the high-class materials and the expert fit and finish. The layout of the instruments and controls is close to perfect. Unlike most Hondas, I am not too keen on the

comfort provided by the seats. My usually quiet wife-to-be actually made this negative comment about the perches. The cabin is airy and very comfortable for four adults. The trunk is well finished and quite voluminous.

Notable additions for 2007 model year include a navigation system and a backup camera for the top-of-the-line EX-L.

It is very hard to fault an economical, safe, practical and reliable source of transportation for a small family. The CR-V really is that good regardless of the trim and the options. It is one of my personal best picks. Over 150,000 Canadians have brought a CR-V home over the last ten years. Can't argue with that!

The CR-V's price range is from $27,700 to $37,400 for an EX-L NAVI, my tester.
