This spring, diehard Toyota truck fans will be served. The FJ Cruiser, the heir to the crown that belonged to the original Land Cruiser will be in dealerships. The FJ is based on the current 4Runner platform and also shares its 245 hp 4.0L V6 powertrain. The front fascia recalls the legendary FJ 40 from the 1970s.
The FJ is a rugged off-road machine and is well equipped to travel beyond the beaten path. Its wheelbase and length are shorter than those of the 4Runner. This allows for greater approach and departure angles. Skid plates are standard as are 9.6 inches of ground clearance 265/70R17 all-terrain tires. A rear-locking differential is optional.
