A small family hot rod
Upscale interior
Even the interior won me over. The front buckets, draped in beautiful black Alcantara, are as snug as one could wish. A red Si logo is also embroidered on the upper portion of the seatbacks. Very nice!

The front buckets are as snug as one could wish, firmly holding your body in check.

Music lovers will appreciate the 350-watt Premium audio system with MP3/WMA playback capability and 7 speakers. Also standard with the Civic Si are ABS brakes and 6 airbags. One thing that's missing -- and I'm thankful for it -- is traction control. Sure, this safety system is useful on dry/wet surfaces, but I seriously doubt it helps the driver come wintertime.

Better than a CSX Type-S
In my mind, the 2008 Honda Civic Si makes a stronger case than the Acura CSX Type-S. Aside from the leather seats (scorching hot during summer and freezing during winter), the advanced navigation system and automatic climate control, the latter only gets the edge in the warranty department: 4 years/80,000 kilometers versus 3 years/60,000 kilometers.

The Civic Si might not bear the prestigious Acura nameplate, but is this prestige really worth the $6,500 premium? I don't think so.
