Under the hood is the former models 3.7 litre DOHC V6 engine with 210 horsepower. The mill offers competitive peak horsepower and generates enough torque for general off-road and light towing duties. Chrysler says the engine's fuel efficiency has been increased, and pegs highway fuel mileage at around 23 MPG.
Power is available delivered via a 6-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. Driving all four wheels is either the Select Track or Command Track 4x4 system which drivers can specify based on their needs. Regardless of which system is employed, the Liberty is a trail-rated product.
Look for it in showrooms later this year.
