Worthy of an empress
The Lexus LS 600h L has nothing to envy to the Mercedes S-Class. In fact, the new flagship from Toyota's premium division can even have the better of it!
In most cases, the LS 600h L will serve as an "executive car" for renowned politicians, company presidents and other larger-than-life individuals. These VIPs will sit in a supremely spacious environment that's even more comfortable than their own private jet. Tucked in a heated/air-conditioned rear seat with ottoman, they will be able to recline the seatback, rest their feet and enjoy a shiatsu massage... provided that the car is equipped with the Premium Executive Package, of course.
The pinnacle of Lexus luxury
We're far from the Toyota Cressida. The Lexus LS 600h L represents the pinnacle of a Japanese prestige brand which the world's number one automaker wants to impose in a segment dominated by a German triumvirate.
You think Toyota made any kind of compromises? Guess again. Their goal was not merely to create a car that could compete with the Mercedes-Benz S600, BMW 750iL and Audi A8 L. Designers and engineers searched their brains out to find the one thing that would set their car apart from anything else. The new LS had to be highly desirable for wealthy customers who crave innovative technologies but aren't used to putting Lexus on top of their shopping list.
And so they decided to make their flagship sedan the world's first "green" luxury full-size car. The proliferation of hybrid vehicles in corporate and government fleets shows how much decision-makers would like to be viewed as good citizens.

The letter "L" refers to the long wheelbase, which means greater passenger comfort. |
