Braking is strong and controlled; the Clubman features electronic brake force distribution, anti-lock brakes, cornering brake control, and brake assist to offer full braking power in emergency situations. Dynamic stability control is also standard. The Clubman's best safety feature may be its ability to avoid accidents; nevertheless, a full array of airbags and crash impact engineering makes this Mini a safe vehicle.

With over a dozen body colours, multiple roof colours, and wheels and trim options, the Clubman can be personalized. The array of standard Mini Cooper options, such as high intensity discharge headlights and a massive moonroof, remain available - the latter making the interior feel cavernous. The rear of the car also exudes a fresh style. And, though rear taillights appear to be integrated within the rear doors, they actually remain fixed within the body (for safety regulations) when the doors are opened, yielding holes in the doors.

Mini expects the standard two door version to maintain the bulk of sales. Looking down the road though, a four wheel drive version may be derived from the Mini Cooper Clubman. An 'off road' appearance would be given to this vehicle, known as the Mini Moke.

Clubman pricing will be available closer to its early 2008 launch.
