Spoiled by life!
The seats are comfortable but since the cushions are a bit high, my head touched the ceiling. For those over 6 feet tall, this might become irritating. The adjustments should normally make it possible to drop the seats low enough to accommodate any body size. On the plus side, it allows a good driving position and a commanding view of the road, although the head restraints on the second- and third-row seats slightly impede rearward visibility. At least the outside mirrors are decently sized.

The seats are comfortable and allow a commanding view of the road,

But in order to enjoy that high seating position, you first need to get there. Toyota gave us tools to make access easier, like optional running boards. On the other hand, rear-seat access is a tad more complicated. Said running boards are too short; they should extend a few additional centimeters toward the back.

Once the doors are shut, all eight occupants can appreciate the smooth ride and serene atmosphere. These are the result of the ultra-soft suspension and the effective sound-deadening materials. Considering the girth of the Sequoia, it comes as no surprise that plenty of readily-accessible storage compartments are found inside. The entire cabin is really well thought-out and user-friendly.

Mechanical monster
Weighing 7,297 pounds (nearly 3.5 tons), the 2008 Toyota Sequoia needs a powerful engine to move forward. Once again, the Tundra was called upon. Under the hood is the same 5.7L i-Force V8 producing 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. This engine allows the Sequoia to tow up to 9,095 pounds. So if you have to move your mobile home, you can count on the big Sequoia to get the job done.

The i-Force mill proves to be a competent performer, one that delivers impressive accelerations given the size of the vehicle. Mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, it operates efficiently and is always up to the task. However, as with the Lexus LX 570, you'll get rapidly acquainted with gas station attendants due to an average fuel economy of 18.1 L/100 km. (You'd better be holding shares in an oil company; otherwise, the Sequoia will literally eat your wallet!)

The i-Force mill proves to be a competent performer.
