New style, updated iDrive
Of course, the 7-Series isn't all about luxury and entertainment- so the Sports Package adds a new Integral Active Steering system which utilizes speed-sensitive rear-wheel steering for sharper handling response. A fully active driving dynamics and active suspension system is also available.

BMW's newly updated iDrive system is on board too.

BMW says that they'll sell the 7-Series with an optional active night-vision system to top off the vehicle's advanced safety offerings. The night-vision system can detect a moving pedestrian in the dark and warn the driver to prevent an accident. Adaptive cruise control can also be added.

BMW Canada's director of marketing, Kevin Marcotte, explains how the new 7-Series and other updated offerings in their lineup fit with the needs of the Canadian luxury car shopper.

"The Canadian market remains intensely competitive and premium brand consumers are benefiting" he says. "Our 2009 product offerings, including diesel engines in the new 3 Series Sedan and X5 Sports Activity Vehicle later this year provide Canadians with even more choice to enjoy our brand promise of delivering The Ultimate Driving Experience."

Set to go on sale by spring, the 2009 7-Series will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show this month.
