In a family oriented manner, there is a convex passenger view mirror and stain resistant fabric seats, while the R/T model gets leather. The front seat may be optionally heated, but all will feature side airbags. All three rows also get rollover sensitive curtain airbags. Electronic stability program, traction control, tire pressure monitoring, and anti-lock four-wheel disc brakes with brake assist are standard.

The Journey will feature all the expected technologies including the myGIG(tm) multimedia system with optional SIRIUS(tm) satellite radio. There will also be a GPS navigation system with traffic updates on a 7-inch screen available, along with a rear backup camera. Rear passengers may be entertained by an optional DVD entertainment system with 8-inch screen. Mobile phones may also be connected for hands-free use by BlueTooth(tm) technology.

Demanding energy use in the Journey is the Chill Zone(tm) cooled glove box, the optional remote starter, four 12-volt power points and an optional 115-volt, 150-watt power inverter. Also optional are LED overhead map lights and a removable rechargeable LED flashlight.

The Journey will be on sale early 2008. Expect pricing closer to launch.
