When the TDI versions arrive in June, Touareg will no longer be available in Canada with the V8 engine. (The V10 was only available in Canada for one year, when only 40 were sold.)
Touareg TDI models will be available in the same three-model hierarchy as the 3.6 V6 models -- but with $4,000 added to each respective sticker price.
So the TDI line-up shakes up like this: Comfortline starting at $48,975; Highline starting at $57,975; Execline starting at $62,675.
VW Canada calls the Touareg Comfortline TDI, "the most affordable clean diesel SUV in Canada." But the higher priced versions certainly stack it up directly against clean diesel competitors from upscale brands, like BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz ML.
But John White and VW Canada are ready and able to do battle, and will launch the vehicle with aggressive lease and financing rates.
