The Chrysler and Dodge minivans get a major makeover in 2011. As such, Town & Country heads into model-year 2010 unchanged from 2009, save for a bit of polishing here and there.

There are fewer minivans around, now that crossovers seem to be the preferred people-mover form. But there is no better way to get more family-friendly space and features into a vehicle, than through a pure minivan, like the Town & Country. Especially as Chrysler has thought long and hard about such things, ever since it created the first, modern North American front-drive minivan, way back in 1984.

Novel seating options include rear seats that swivel, so occupants can face each other over a removable/stowable table, and “Stow ‘N Go” seats that can completely disappear into the floor.

Last year Chrysler introduced Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path (comes as one system) to this segment.

There are two models: Touring and Limited. Both feature a 251 hp 4.0-litre V6; for 2010 it adds available fuel savor indicator and Interactive Dec Fuel Shut-Off (iDFSO).

Additional 2010 improvements include: auto temp control packaged with power sunroof; new colour choices (Dark Titanium Metallic, Blackberry Pearl, White Gold Pearl, Dark Cordovan Pearl); new satin silver finish aluminum wheels; second row power windows (passenger side) now one-touch express up/down; visual alerts added to audible alerts in ParkSense Rear Park Assist System.

Pricing starts at $37,745.
