The G37x Coupe starts at $48,800, which is $2,500 more than the base version that drives the rear wheels. Add the $3,750 Hi-Tech Package, and you’re blowing through that $50K budget ceiling you might have been thinking about.
There is competition, but barely: the BMW 335i xDrive coupé starts at $53,600, while the slower Audi A5 3.2 FSI quattro carries a price tag of $53,350. The G37 could also be considered as a moderately rational person’s Audi S5, which starts at just under $66K.
We can also view the $42K Nissan 370Z as a rival, but like I mentioned earlier if my brain serves me right, it’s not quite on the same mission.
Maybe it’s because I’m breathing in too much springtime air, but I feel that happy times are to be found behind the wheel of the Infiniti G37 Coupe. It’s fast, luxurious, solid and offers a great motorized soundtrack. It’s also a little tight inside and has a few ergonomic flaws, but the pros outweigh the cons by a wide margin.
