Sized Right
Dusseldorf, Germany - The idiom "good things come in small packages" is being taken to heart by Mercedes-Benz. The latest example of that convention is the 2010 GLK compact crossover SUV set to go on sale in Canada, January 01, 2009.

The GLK's distinctive styling tends to polarize opinions.

Launching a new Benz
Mercedes-Benz chose the idyllic and often challenging terrain of Germany to introduce its latest accomplishment. Over the course of several days, journalists were invited to drive the GLK on roads that ranged from autobahn expressways to mud-laden ascents requiring the GLK to defy all known laws of gravity- or so it seemed.

If you missed the GLK cameo in the 'Sex and The City' movie recently released, stay tuned to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing; Mercedes-Benz plans to publicly debut their compact crossover/SUV inductee during the widely viewed international venue.

"Right Sizing" - Frank Zimmerman, Mercedes-Benz Product Manager
No doubt about it, SUV purchasers are exchanging fuel-hoarding full-size SUVs for smaller, more efficient rigs. Until now, the Mercedes-Benz lineup was devoid of such an offering; the new GLK addresses this big problem in a condensed way.

Mercedes-Benz likes to describe the compact GLK as a modern SUV with the genes of a G-Class, their largest SUV. The genes in question not only render the GLK with impressive off-road fortitude but also a visual identity that links it with the G-Class, and interestingly enough, the C-Class sedan upon which it's based.

The GLK's distinctive styling tends to polarize opinions. Overall, I find the execution expresses aggression-infused elegance thanks to the vehicle's wide stance and edgy appearance. Unless third-row seating is required, this size of vehicle is all that most buyers need in an SUV, so I concur with Frank - it is indeed "sized right".
