Ride and handling
The Sentra SE-R Spec V is a solid feeling sedan that deals well with road noise. Its ride quality is on the firm side but such is life when living with a sport-tuned suspension. And it’s the sport tuning and extra bracing that underpin such enjoyable on-road athletics.
The SE-R is more than capable of holding its own through corners with steering that’s precise and responsive. Spirited undertakings instill driver confidence, with little in the way of undesirable theatrics to be concerned of.
The one steering-related criticism I have pertains to a lack of “true” steering feedback; it felt numb and unnaturally springy when off-centre. But let’s remember—with an ask of just $23K, the SE-R Spec V isn’t a 3-Series Bimmer.
On the arresting side, the Spec V’s brakes are strong, progressive and easily modulated.
Wrap of the SE-R Spec V
While facing-off with tough competition, the SE-R Spec V brings a lot to the table. It’s a well-equipped sports sedan that’s reasonably priced, practical and fairly frugal. Its four doors and decent trunk size will fulfill many family needs without sacrificing fun and gratification behind the wheel.
