Prius goes 100km on $5
“So, like, how is it”?
With no changes to my driving habits, I managed to average combined consumption of 5.3L / 100km. That’s slightly better than I achieved in the Honda Insight under similar driving conditions.

In Northern Ontario’s Nickel Belt, the Toyota Prius is a far-from-common sight.

Work at it, and you'll do even better. In fact, if you're retired or otherwise not in any kind of rush, Toyota says you could get over 75 miles per gallon-- though doing so would likely irritate other motorists.

Really, the Prius both is and isn’t all about hybrid driving. Where performance, handling and functionality are concerned, it's scarcely different than driving any other upscale small car. A hybrid car may or may not be your thing-- but it’s an interesting and growing technology that’s more than worth a test-drive.
